Global Team Travel is the leader in New Tour Markets:
- 1992: John Salvatore took a US High School Boys soccer team to South Africa. It was the first US team to compete there – and the first to play in the townships of Soweto. The tour was covered by ESPN and featured on Scholastic Sports America as it took place before the initial democratic elections won by Nelson Mandela.
- 1993: John Salvatore took US High School Boys & Girls teams to Cuba. They were the first US teams to compete against the Cuban National teams – and raised over $50,000 of equipment for the children at the same time.
